my hope.

Read this.

I feel that its quite amazing what this nation..the United States of America is coming to. After reading this article on "Fake" Teen Christians, it makes me sad to see that our nation thinks that teens are becoming "fake" Christians when in all actually thats what the majority of American believers are. If we as a Church aren't living the correct representation of what the marks of a "true" Christian are then how can we expect our teens to? My question to my fellow "radical" Christians is what are we doing about this issue? How are we reaching the next generation which are thought to be luke warm believers? How can we give this generation the hope and the truth?

I agree with what the author said when "Parents are the biggest influence for teens" Although there is truth in this isnt the absolute truth. Isnt our God bigger than the humans he created? I believe than if anyone reveals the whole truth about Jesus Christ and serving a living God then His power, mercy, grace and love will speak for its self.

We as fellow believers need to be doing our part to bring up the youth and those around us who are walking in complacency because the majority of us were there at one point or another. The beautiful thing about this Christian relationship is its just that.. a relationship. One that requires a lot of growth. You just don't get it right off the bat. You don't really start understanding what a relationship with the Lord looks like it until you are submersed into the hardest points in your life and realize that God is the only person there for you. In the loneliest of times he doesn't leave you. David says in Psalms 'Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you. (9 v.10)

He also goes on to say in Psalm 19 v 7-10 'The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever. The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous. They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb."

People we serve an amazing God. We just need to get off our lazy butts and seek him. We need to reveal Him to those around us through our actions, through our church walls, through the tough messages from the pulpit, through the love we give the homeless, prostitutes, drunks, rich and poor. We are all searching to love and to be loved. Why can we just learn to accept the love that has been freely given for all.

Are we as Americans too consumed with our own selfish motives to actually reach out and show Christ to those around us? Lately I have had quite a desire to pray for President Obama ( well frankly I should have been praying for him a long time ago.) But more recently my eyes have been opened to the fact that maybe this "fake" Christianity that we are seeing in our youth stems from the fact that our nation is a "fake" Christian nation. We claim to be rooted and established in Christian values but its clear to say that we idolize materialism and independence much more than the Creator of the Universe. Something is clearly wrong with this picture.

I was reading in Proverbs today and I felt like the Lord spoke very clearly that Proverbs 1:20-33 was about the United States..and well this made me really sad to think about. I want to be from a nation that fears the Lord, that walks in the light and that wants to see truth prevail.

Proverbs 1:20-33
Wisdom calls aloud in the street,
she raises her voice in the public squares;
21 at the head of the noisy streets she cries out,
in the gateways of the city she makes her speech:

22 "How long will you simple ones love your simple ways?
How long will mockers delight in mockery
and fools hate knowledge?

23 If you had responded to my rebuke,
I would have poured out my heart to you
and made my thoughts known to you.

24 But since you rejected me when I called
and no one gave heed when I stretched out my hand,

25 since you ignored all my advice
and would not accept my rebuke,

26 I in turn will laugh at your disaster;
I will mock when calamity overtakes you-

27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind,
when distress and trouble overwhelm you.

28 "Then they will call to me but I will not answer;
they will look for me but will not find me.

29 Since they hated knowledge
and did not choose to fear the LORD,

30 since they would not accept my advice
and spurned my rebuke,

31 they will eat the fruit of their ways
and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.

32 For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
and the complacency of fools will destroy them;

33 but whoever listens to me will live in safety
and be at ease, without fear of harm."

America, WE NEED TO WAKE UP. Christians, WE NEED TO WAKE UP. Noel, YOU NEED TO WAKE UP. The change is now. How are we going to change to help change those around us? It starts with the small motivation of one. I pray that we as American citizens will have the veil removed from our eyes and that the "church" would really start acting its part of the body.

I put my hope in HIM alone because He is the one thing yet to fail me.
God is oh so good.
