New friend Joey and the city of Perth!
5:30am couldn’t have come sooner I guess. I woke from a VERY deep sleep to a dark room full of sleeping bodies. As I lay there trying to grasp just where I was…I realized that I was in Perth Australia! It was day 2 of my 6 month adventure! What the day had to hold I wasn’t sure..I rolled over and went back to sleep.
After gaining a few more hours of sleep and a nice shower I decided to blow dry my hair…apparently that is a bad idea in a open, loft type apartment with lots of girls sleeping. I was quickly warned that we are to take our early blow drying outside.. ha.
Off to my adventures for the day, I first needed to meet with Jesus. It seems that fear and selfishness had already set in and I was currently wondering why I have not quite been able to be myself and allow myself to receive people for who they are. I am beginning to realize that this is a constant battle within my soul. Learning that I have this idea of who people are supposed to be and when they aren’t that way I decide not to give them a chance. Wow…thank you for hitting me smack in the face with that one God. Like seriously. I am ready for my eyes to be opened and my heart to truly receive people for who they are and how they act. There is definitely a lot to take place in this part of my light.
On a lighter note, I spent the majority of the day walking down town and on a longboarding adventure with my new friend Christy. A Canadian who has an amazing passion for the youth of this world.
Oh did I mention that Perth is beautiful. So clean, so fresh…so fresh and so clean clean. (That was for you Ryan and our Portland trips ☺ ) the City is so diverse, shopping is so expensive, people are everywhere of every nationality…a true melting pot. There is so many physically beautiful people here it really is amazing.
GOOOD coffee helped me to snap out of a zombie stage for about an hour and a half to enjoy meeting more people from my team, Luke an English boy who enjoys making fun of the fact that draw out my words. June, a YWAM staffer who is from China, she is so cute and delightful. Erin, a northeastern Aussie who is quiet but beautiful non the less.
As more girls pile in the house today, I am reminded of the most important reason for the season…Jesus. As tomorrow approaches and Easter is here, I am so lucky to say that I serve a LIVING GOD. One who not only died for my sins but ROSE AGAIN…so that I may have the opportunity to serve him. To love him. To cherish him. To delight in him. To learn from him. TO HAVE FREEDOM in him! Wow…I am continually blown away at the thought of this.
Matthew 28:18-20
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of age.”
Mark 16:19-20
After the Lord Jesus has spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

Sister, it is so neat that you put that verse in Matthew about going to the nations because I shared that with Gpa T. today as he shared with me his apprehensions for you going to Mexico. You know just being a grandpa! But it was totally God that reminded me to share that verse with him and then you out it in your blog. I am so happy for you and praying for you. Grandpa also prayed for you especially when he said the easter dinner prayer. We all love you and miss you! Cant wait to catch up sister!!
