So how are we called to live? I have been pondering this for a little while now and after hearing a sermon on Micah this morning I feel like I am beginning to understand just a little bit better.
Micah 6:8 says:
" He has showed you, O man, what is good.
And what does the LORD require of you?
To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God."
Act justly?
How am I doing that? What does that look like? Simply i believe that its what we are doing when do one else is looking. How are our morals and values displayed to all..I like to think that I am a person that has justice but this seems to be an area where i have been somewhat convicted in. bah..
Love Mercy?
How is your loving kindness, compassion and grace shown to others? Do you love with conditions? With hopes of getting love back? Or do you love with the mere sake of loving like Jesus loved? I want to learn how to love like Jesus does. ahh what a cool feeling that would be.
Now its about finding that balance between the two. Its about speaking truth but with grace. Its about loving whole heartedly to those that need it most. i want this to be my like....
simple right....but yet soooo complicated.
god is love.
ps. i am at the cutest little coffee shop ever. its in corvallis too. haha :)
